DETROIT (WXYZ) — A Detroit Police Department scout car was involved in a serious crash Tuesday evening in the area of Dexter Avenue and Oakman Boulevard on the city's west side.
The police car and a Dodge Avenger collided. Two on-duty officers were traveling westbound on Oakman when the driver of a Dodge Avenger, traveling southbound on Dexter, struck the officer's vehicle in the intersection. It's alleged that the driver of the Avenger ran through a red light before initiating the crash.
Both officers, the driver of the Avenger and two passengers in the civilian vehicle, were all transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As of Tuesday evening, everyone involved is listed in temporary serious condition.
