DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are hoping for the public's help in identifying three young men, possibly teenagers, who launched a surprise attack on a 23-year-old man as he waited for a bus on East Warren near Cadieux on the city's east side.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 as students were leaving a nearby school.

Some students appear to have witnessed the attack but they were not involved in the assault that police said appears to have been random.

The victim did not sustain any critical injuries, but anyone with information on those involved is urged to contact Detroit's 5th Precinct Detective Unit at 313-596-5540 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800)SPEAK-UP.
