(WXYZ) — Several arrests have been made after a video of what appears to be celebratory gunfire on New Year's Eve.
The video, which was shared and viewed thousands of times, showed more than a dozen people firing continuous shots in the air while people cheer in the background.
Police say nine people in total were arrested in relation to the video. Of those nine people, four were on probation violations, one was on parole violation and three were on unrelated warrants. An additional arrest stemming from the New Year's Even gunfire was also made.
Earlier in January, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said they identified 14 people connected to the viral video. The video was taken in the 9000 block of Warwick on the city's west side. Everyone in the videos was identified as part of a west side gang, Craig said.
