Detroit Police tell 7 Action News their officers came under fire again. This time it happened overnight in the 19000 block of Hull on the city's east side.
According to police, they were called to investigate a vehicle in the road around 1 a.m. Thursday. That's when a man came out of a house nearby, off a porch and opened fire on officers. The officers returned fire, hitting the suspect.
Police tell 7 Action News the suspect is in surgery, last listed in critical condition.
The suspect's weapon was recovered at the scene near E. State Fair and Hull.
Police are now searching for a second person who may have been a witness to the shooting.
