Detroit police want to locate vehicle in connection to deadly road rage shooting

DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a vehicle wanted in connection to a deadly road rage shooting that happened on the city's west side on July 3.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. in the 10400 block of Joy Road.

A 19-year-old girl was riding in a vehicle with family when the vehicle unintentionally cut off the driver in the wanted vehicle – a black SUV.

The driver in the SUV pulled along side the vehicle with the 19-year-old inside and began firing multiple shots, striking the teen. The 19-year-old later died from her injuries at a hospital, police say. No other injuries were reported from the shooting.

The wanted vehicle is a black Ford Explorer with a license or vanity plate on the front.
