The Detroit Policy Conference kicks off today.
Four years after filing for bankruptcy in 2013, Detroit is in the throngs of a resurgence of energy and innovation.
Hundreds of businesses, organizations and leaders will come together to discuss Detroit's future and celebrate exciting new developments.
New development, like an exciting plan to build up the riverfront and current development like the new entertainment area of downtown called District Detroit, the brainchild of Christopher Ilitch and Ilitch Holdings, will surely be highlights.
Panelists are also expected to discuss the big topic of getting the development in influence spread out into Detroit neighborhoods.
This conference, hosted by the Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, begins at Motor City Casino at 7:30 a.m.
To attend, it's $209 if you're a member of the chamber, entry costs $285 if you're not a member.
WXYZ will be there to cover the conference and will have the big headlines that come out of this massive brain-storming day-long event.
