A Mumford High School alum is creating a mobile museum focusing on Detroit's public high schools.
He's removing the seats of old SMART buses, adding carpet and turning the buses into mobile museums. They'll be loaded with DPS artifacts like yearbooks, old newspapers and shirts autographed by alumni.
"This is about preserving the legacy of Detroit Public high schools. We need a place that you can come and see an old locker or see a brick from the old school," says Michael Williams, who's starting the Museum of High School Preservation.
Williams says the ultimate goal is to have three mobile museum buses and a permanent location as well.
