(WXYZ) — As the winter storm heads towards Michigan, some schools are preparing to go virtual. On Tuesday, Detroit Public Community Schools said they will be amongst those schools.

“If heavy snow comes, we will shift to online learning for the bad weather days to ensure learning continues. School will not be canceled,” they said in a statement.

Classes will be moved online for those students even when school buildings physically close.
