The Detroit Red Wings have locked up a defenseman for the long-haul as the team signed Danny DeKeyser to a six-year contract.
General Manager Ken Holland tells the Detroit Free Press the deal is with $30 million, averaging $5 million each year.
The 26-year-old defenseman has spent four seasons with the Red Wings.
In 78 games last season, DeKeyser scored eight goals, added 12 assists and was a plus-2.
