A family is mourning after a young woman died over the weekend after being hit in the head with a 2x4.
Charsha Miller's family wants answers after the senseless crime ended tragically, taking a young woman’s life too soon.
“We do not want this to go cold, we are not taking this kindly at all,” said family friend Vanita Jones.
Miller, 23, was full of life, her family says.
“She was young she had her whole life ahead of her, she could have done whatever she wanted to do and somebody just took her life,” said Jones.
Her family says she was involved in an argument over the weekend when things went from bad to worse.
“They left my cousin on the curb for three hours, three hours. They didn't think to call the police or nothing,” said Miller's cousin Shunda White.
Miller was reportedly hit over the head with the piece of lumber. The incident happened around 5 a.m. Saturday on Sussex Street.
"I’m angry, I’m hurt, I’m lost,” said White.
The family is pleading with whoever is responsible to come forward and turn themselves in.
“We really want to see these people go and get what they deserve because she didn’t deserve this,” Jones said.
The family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with burial cost. They say they want to give Miller a proper burial.
