(WXYZ) — The Detroit Zoo is mourning the loss of one of its beloved gray wolves.
Eleven-year-old Wazi reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest during surgery to remove a mass in her chest.
According to a Facebook post from the zoo, surgery was the only option due to the size and location of the mass.
"Wazi was intelligent, fearless, curious and sassy and was adored by our staff, volunteers and visitors," the zoo said. "She will be missed by all."
