(WXYZ) — A fugitive authorities say shot his mother's boyfriend six times on Detroit's east side has been captured Friday after being featured on Detroit's Most Wanted.
Police say 24-year-old Marcus Hern was arrested in Highland Park after they received a tip from an Action News viewer.
According to U.S. Marshals, Hern was wanted for a non-fatal shooting on Halloween last year at a home on Detroit's east side.
"Marcus Hern asked his mother's boyfriend, they all reside here in common, to take him to the store," said Deputy Aaron Garcia. "It was a dispute about taking him to the store to purchase something."
When the boyfriend refused, it took mere moments for his life to change forever.
"He pulls out his hand, he smacks him and then he pulls out a gun. Then he shoots at him and ended up shooting him six times. I mean he’s shot in the arm, abdomen, all over. He pepper-sprayed the guy six times, bleeding out right here in the driveway," Garcia said.
Police say luckily there were witnesses who rushed the mother's boyfriend to the hospital.
Hern is now off the street.
