(WXYZ) — This week, the U.S. Marshals need your help finding a man they say shot at his own child and the child's mother in a car on Detroit's west side in September.

More recently, 31-year-old Reginald Davis was also accused of shooting his own cousin on Christmas Eve at a family party.

"They were getting together having a party, he goes down to the basement and talks to his cousin and demands the money that he owes him – cousin says I don’t know what you’re talking about," said Deputy Michelle Rocha. "Davis then pulls out his gun, shoots the cousin striking him in the leg and then flees the scene."

In September, police say the mother of Davis' child came to Whitcomb to discuss caring for their daughter.

"They want to discuss child support and he becomes irate during the conversation," Rocha said. "He has a rifle in his hand, once he became irate, he started shooting at her as she was running away to her vehicle."

According to authorities, the mother screamed that the child was in the car, but that did not stop Davis from shooting.

"He kept shooting at the car, it’s my understanding it was 5 to 6 shots he got out – with his child in the car," said Rocha.

Luckily, the woman and child escaped and drove to a police station to get help. That's when the manhunt began.

Deputies say Davis just got off probation earlier this year and gets angry at the drop off a dime.

"This guy has proven to be violent against his own loved ones, his family. What's he going to do to someone he hates – his track record has proven he needs to go to jail," said Deputy Aaron Garcia.

He is about 6-foot tall, 180 pounds, has a tattoo of his name across his neck and was last seen with braids. Authorities say he is armed and dangerous.

As always, there's a cash reward for any information leading to his arrest. You can call the Marshals any time at (313) 234-5656.
