LAKE ORION, Mich. (WXYZ) — Lake Orion police are looking for a suspect who stole an employee's purse and then dined and dashed at Sagebrush Cantina early Monday.

Police say the suspect, a man believed to be in his mid-50s, was at the Cantina at midnight. At around 2:07 a.m., an employee at the Mexican restaurant was finishing her shift and placed her purse on the bar while she completed some tasks.

The suspect is then seen on surveillance video taking the employee's purse from the bar and into the men's restroom. He removed cash from the purse and left the restaurant without paying for his meal.

The purse was later recovered, police say. They're still looking for the suspect.

If you have information on his whereabouts, contact Lake Orion police at 248-693-8323.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the stolen money was recovered. This has been updated.
