Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has stuck around the area to hold a number of campaign events just a day after the GOP debate at the Fox Theatre.

Trump held a rally Friday morning at the Macomb Community College Sports and Expo Center in Warren. During the event, he attacked fellow candidate Marco Rubio and promised to protect American jobs.

He expanded his attack on his previous target, Ford, for building what he says is a $2.5 billion plant in Mexico.

Ford released the following statement on Friday: Ford is deeply invested in the U.S. and has been for more than a century.  We are a major U.S. employer with 80,000 U.S. employees, and a major U.S. exporter of American-made cars and trucks. We are also a major source of U.S. investment. Since 2011, Ford has invested $10.2+ billion in our U.S. plants.  Over the next four years, we have committed to invest $9 billion at our U.S. plants.

Trump is now headed to Cadillac where he will participate in another rally at the Wexford Civic Center at 1 p.m.
