MELVINDALE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A popular bar in Melvindale is closing its doors.
After 65 years in business, Mel Bar & Grill, located on Allen Road near Cora Street, is closing.
The Downriver bar is known for its karaoke, fish frys and 75-cent tacos and coney dogs.
The owner says it's time to move on to another adventure, but customers say they're sad to see it go.
"It's been a great time but all good things must come to an end," the bar owners said in a Facebook post.
It will close on June 22 with a final goodbye party.
