SOUTHGATE, Mich. (WXYZ) — McLinden's Shoes, which has been in business for 72 years in Southgate, will be closing for good.

"After 72 years, our landmark family business will be closing," the store said in a Facebook post. "We owe our success to our loyal customers, as well as our dedicated employees."

The store will hold a retirement sale on Thursday, April 4, selling all items in the store, including thousands of pairs of shoes and accessories.

Additionally, the store will be selling all fixtures and display materials.

"We would especially like to thank everyone that has worked with us over the decades as well as our loyal customers. We are grateful to have fit more than 4 generations of Michiganders, and look forward to seeing you all again as we bring this bitter sweet chapter to its conclusion."
