DETROIT (WXYZ) — Parts of downtown Detroit are still under a boil water advisory after a major water main break Sunday.

While crews continue to work on repairing the line near McDougall and Larned, people in town for the 2019 Detroit Auto Show are being impacted.

According to reporter Nia Harden, there are signs at Cobo Center advising spectators to refrain from drinking the tap water. Even some water fountains have been shut off.

Visitors have been able to buy bottled water on the center's concourse level for $3.50 a pop. Concession workers say they have been doing their best by boiling water.

Nearby hotels and restaurant are also affected -- some having to close their doors during one of the busiest times in the Motor City.

Residents are advised to boil water before drinking, cooking or brushing their teeth.

The advisory is expected to be lifted by Thursday.
