(WXYZ) — Dozens of schools across metro Detroit are closed on Thursday, many due to power outages after high winds on Wednesday evening.

As of 6:20 a.m., there were 26 schools closed in the area.

According to the DTE Energy outage map, there are more than 85,000 people without power in metro Detroit.

The outages are scattered throughout the area.
