OTSEGO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Gaylord troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding on the evening of July 4th around 7:35 p.m.

Troopers say the Ford pickup pulling a horse-trailer had been traveling at 91 mph on I-75. The traffic stop took place near mile-marker 270 on the northbound side.

After approaching the driver, troopers observed signs that the woman may be intoxicated. A search of the truck revealed two open beer cans in the center console, one of which was mostly full, troopers say.

The 38-year-old female driver from Wayne was arrested for suspected OWI and placed in the Otsego County Jail after a roadside investigation.

The trailer and two horses were turned over to Otsego County Animal Control for care until a responsible party could claim them, according to troopers.

The case will go to the Otsego Prosecutor for review and official charges. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Otsego County Deputies.
