LINCOLN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 50-year-old man has been arrested for drunk driving for the fifth time after rear-ending a semi truck in Lincoln Park Saturday.

On Aug. 8 around 4:45 a.m., Metro South troopers were dispatched to a report of a semi being rear ended by a pickup truck on southbound I-75 and Southfield Road in Lincoln Park.

Troopers arrived on scene and saw an unconscious person in the driver’s seat of a pick-up truck that rear-ended the semi. Troopers believed the person was under the influence of narcotics, and a dose of Narcan was administered by Lincoln Park officers also on scene, according to MSP.

Witnesses reported to police that the pick up was traveling at a high rate of speed and drove into the back of the semi. The 50-year-old male driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment and a chemical blood test.

MSP says a check of the suspect’s driver’s license showed he has four prior operating while intoxicated (OWI) convictions.
