TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 30-year-old naked Sterling Heights man arrested for drunk driving in Troy was charged last Friday, police say.

On March 22, officers responded to the area of Rochester Road south of Player Drive to report of a disabled vehicle blocking the right lane. Police located the blue 2009 Chrysler 200 with the passenger side tires missing. The front tie rod was broken and the vehicle was leaking oil, police say.

Officers believe the vehicle hit the curb at a high rate of speed before stopping in the roadway. Police approached the vehicle and spoke to Adam Corie Lafave, who was naked from the waist down.

Lafave admitted to leaving a friend's residence and heading to his home in Sterling Heights. The officers noticed an alcohol odor coming from Lafave when he spoke. He again admitted to drinking alcohol about 2.5 hours prior.

He was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations to which he did with a towel wrapped around his waist, police say. But the officers noted that he performed poorly. He submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test with a result of .165%.

The 30-year-old was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
