DETROIT — The Detroit City Council unanimously approved a series of pay raises for nine of its members, including Mayor Mike Duggan and City Clerk Janice Winfrey during a meeting Tuesday.

This is the third pay bump since the city exited bankruptcy in 2014.

The members will get an immediate 3% increase in salary, and Duggan, Winfrey and the council will get an additional 2.5% increase in March and another 2.5% increase in July.

After the incremental adjustments, that will take Duggan’s pay of $174,930 to just over $189,000 and Winfrey’s pay from $82,749 to $89,500.

The pay raises were recommended by the Compensation Commission.
