FERNDALE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The Ferndale Elks will host its Fadebacks and Backpacks event on Aug. 25 to help kids prep for going back to school.
The event will offer 100 free back-to-school haircuts and backpacks stuffed with school supplies, including notepads, paper, pens, pencils, highlighters, rulers, crayons, colored pencils, glue, scissors, erasers and markers for kids of all ages.
Educational activities and light snacks will also be provided.
The event will be held at the Ferndale Elks Lodge #1588, 22856 Woodward Ave. It will run from noon until 5 p.m. while supplies last.
