An elderly woman is expected to be okay after the car she was sitting in rolled into Belleville Lake on Friday afternoon.
According to police, the 78-year-old Livonia woman was sitting in the car with her 38-year-old grandson from Redford.
She thought the car was in park but they rolled into the water. The grandson was driving but was outside of the vehicle when it went in the water.
The woman went down with the vehicle but Good Samaritans nearby were able to rescue her and hold her head above water until rescue units arrived.
The SUV was eventually pulled from the water.
