(WXYZ) — State lawmakers across party lines are in favor of cannabis in Michigan, according to a recently released election scoreboard created by Lansing-based political consultants.

The questionnaire, created by Grassroots Midwest, was sent to candidates across the state. And based on their response, candidates were given a letter grade from A to F.

"We needed to help our members and Michigan voters recognize which candidates are supportive of progressive cannabis policy so we are very excited to release our first ever cannabis election scorecard,” said Robin Schneider, executive director of the MiCIA. “The results confirmed what we are seeing firsthand, that support for cannabis has become a bipartisan issue. As we have rolled out our industry in Michigan, lawmakers are respecting and upholding the will of the voters.”

There was a 66 percent response rate from Democrats who received the questionnaire , and a 33 percent response rate from Republican candidates.
