Police are investigating an incident where an EMS worker was stabbed while assisting at a scene in Novi on Tuesday.
According to Michigan State Police Metro North post, at 5:35 p.m., an EMS unit was dispatched to I-96 and Meadowbrook to assist a man who was seen crawling out of the woods.
When the suspect was being loaded into the emergency vehicle, he became combative and stabbed one of the EMS workers in the neck.
At that point, EMS workers pushed the suspect out of the vehicle and locked the doors until a Novi police officer noticed the scene and arrested the suspect.

The EMS worker, who is also described by police as the driver of the emergency vehicle, suffered non-life threatening injuries. Both the worker and suspect are currently at a local hospital, police say.
Novi police located the suspect's vehicle parked at a mall following the incident.
Michigan State Police say the EMS worker has been released from the hospital and the suspect is currently lodged at the Oakland County Jail.
