Many metro Detroiters are gearing up to help homeless animals in our state by participating in one of the Michigan Humane Society's Mega March for Animals.
The WXYZ - TV / WMYD - TV team is walking in the next three fundraising walks to help support MHS!
"We've been taking part in this event for about 8 years, and each year our team gets bigger," said Alicia Smith, WXYZ Channel 7 / TV 20 Detroit Morning Anchor and Team Co-Captain. "It's so much fun to see all the different dogs people bring. It's kind of like a walking version of the Encyclopedia of Dogs!" she laughed.
"What's most important, though, is how this event helps homeless animals in Michigan. Donating $192 changes the life of one animal in need. It all adds up," Smith added.
WXYZ / WMYD is a proud media partner for this event.
There are three big upcoming events for Mega March for Animals:
Mega March for Animals Belle Isle will be held on September 27. Registration is open.
Mega March for Animals Kensington Metropark will be held on October 4. Registration is open.
Mega March for Animals Stony Creek Metropark will be held on October 4. Registration is open.
The Michigan Humane Society will give an official Mega March T-shirt at the event to those who raise $192 or more.
Those who raise $384 or more online will get a choice of some fun prizes.
Those who raise $1,200 or more will become members of the MHS Best Friends Club and receive a T-shirt, prizes and an exclusive tour and luncheon.
