The mother who found an Australian spider in her apartment found out the spider came from a plant she purchased at a big box store.
Spider expert Andrew Behe with Spider Control says it's common for spiders to hide in things that are shipped.
Behe says last summer a dealership had boxes shipped in, but instead of them getting car parts they had boxes full of black widows.
He says the best thing to do is to get your house sprayed and check your plants and produce before taking it home.
If you see a spider in your home, assume there may be more and call an expert.
