Bruce Key, 52, was leaving the corner store in his Southwest Detroit neighborhood around 9:40 last night when he was struck by a red car.

Moments later, his body was dumped in a nearby parking lot.

Key is seen on store surveillance video picking up something to drink and snacks for his grandchildren. But, moments after exiting the store, Key was being dragged by a hit-and-run driver that only stopped about a block away to get out and drag Key's body off of the hood of the car where he'd been lodged.

Key's family, including his wife of 18 years, are urging the driver, or anyone who may know who he is, to come forward to police.

Witnesses say the vehicle is a smaller red car, possibly a Chevrolet Cavalier.

Five men were inside the car. Witnesses say the driver appeared to be a white man and the four passengers were black.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Detroit Police Fatal Squad investigators at 313-596-2260.

The tipster whose information leads to the driver may be eligible for a reward by calling their information into Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
