Police have taken the father of the 4-year-old girl killed in a go-kart crash early Wednesday morning into custody.
Detroit police say a 4-year-old girl was killed in a go-kart crash on the city's west side.
According to police, the incident happened just before 3 a.m. in the 19300 block of St. Mary's near 7 Mile and Greenfield.
Police say the girl's father took her for a go-kart ride and lost control, hitting a parked car.
The girl suffered blunt force trauma in the accident and was taken to the hospital by her family, but she died from her injuries.
