FBI arrests woman on the run for 16 years

The FBI has captured a woman who was involved in an Allen Park kidnapping case after she spent 16 years on the run.

According to Special Agent in Charge David Gelios, 46-year-old Kimberly Lee Johns was arrested on March 18 in Wisconsin.

Johns allegedly kidnapped someone at gunpoint in Allen Park in May 2000 and held the person for several days and crossed multiple state lines. It ended with the victim escaping and the FBI arresting Johns in Chicago.

She was transported to a detention facility in Indiana but went missing in September 2000.

According to the FBI, she remained at large for nearly 16 years until members of the FBI Milwaukee Division SWAT Team arrested her at her home in Marathon, Wisconsin.
