Detroit Police did not find any evidence in their search of a vacant lot on the east side after receiving a tip related to two separate missing persons cases.

The FBI and MSP were also there assisting.

It’s happened on an overgrown, neglected property on Dickerson between Canfield and Waverey.

Police worked with the city, using a garbage truck they have backed onto the lot to help clear the land, which is owned by the Land Bank Authority.

Neighbor Michael Tarleton says he heard a garbage truck running and watched from his back balcony as police began hauling away debris, tires and a fence. He says he also saw an ATV and other off-road vehicles.

The property does not have a home on it. Tarleton says it was demolished several years ago.

Police Sgt. Michael Woody says once they cleared they land  they brought in cadaver dogs to help with the search for the two bodies.

He tells 7 Action News the cases are not related, but are both from 2016, saying they got the tip to search this lot from a woman close to one of the cases.

Police would not say how they learned a second body may also be on the property.

Details are developing.
