FCA will invest $1.48 billion in the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, the company announced today.

FCA says the injection of funds is to retool the plant in order to build the next generation of the Ram 1500. No plans have been announced for the Warren Truck Assembly Plant which currently builds the vehicle.

The transformation of the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant will begin after December 2016 when the production of the Chrysler 200 ends.
