Ferndale police say they have arrested two men in connection with the theft of a New York Bagel van on Thursday morning.

Police say an employee of the Woodward store reported that a man entered the shop on Woodward around 3:40 a.m. and asked to use the bathroom. Soon afterward, the employee noticed the man was gone and so was the delivery van the employee had left running outside.

Officers were alerted to the theft and the van was spotted traveling eastbound on 9 Mile. Ferndale police say they were able to track the van to a fenced in area, and saw one man walking away from the vehicle and another hiding behind cinder block walls.

Police say the pair admitted they were walking on Woodward and saw the running van. Both men are believed to be homeless.

Brennan Scott Schneider, 19, and Shawn Damon Henry, 38, were arrested at the scene.

Schneider is being charged with unlawfully driving away of an automobile. Henry is facing unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges.
