FERNDALE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Ferndale police confirm with 7 Action News that Relax Spa is now under investigation for human trafficking.

Police are not stating at this time how many women were working at the spa. A spokesperson with the police department says they are concerned for the safety of these women.

“It was as loud as this is now, you never heard anything,” said Ann Heler of Ferncare Free Clinic, who works across the hallway from Relax Spa.

Ferndale police would not confirm if any arrests have been made at this time, and say the spa is still under investigation.

A business entity search for Relax Spa on Michigan's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affair’s website turned up another location in Clarkston, off of Dixie Highway near Maybee Road.

That location is now closed.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office say they sent in two undercover cops to “Relax Spa in Clarkston and says they were both solicited for sex. One woman was cited for prostitution, however a name was not immediately available.

A nearby business owner to the Clarkston Relax Spa says men came in and out of the spa often, and that women who went in for a massage were turned away.
