DDOT riders will soon have more options when it comes to where they can travel.
On Saturday, the Detroit Department of Transportation will launch the 3rd and final phase of a major expansion project.
The entire three stage service expansion will result in six new 24-hour routes, that will include an additional 200 weekly trips by DDOT that are being added in this third phase.
The new routes, which are already available, connect Detroit neighborhoods to major job centers.
One of those new routes, the Mid-City Loop, will provide continuous service to Highland Park, the North End, DMC, Wayne State, New Center, Henry Ford Hospital and Virginia Park.
The expansion is part of a plan announced by Mayor Mike Duggan last summer.
