(WXYZ) — The big reveal of the final trailer for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" premiered at half-time during the New England Patriots vs New York Jets game Monday night and fans are in a frenzy.

In a seconds-long teaser, the Star Wars Twitter account let fans know to tune in to Monday Night Football for the official release of the trailer, and fans couldn't wait.

"Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker" will hit theaters on Dec. 20, and tickets are already on sale.

The tickets went on sale during the Monday Night Football game, according to the online publication CNET. This is symbolic in a way because Oct. 21 is Carrie Fisher's birthday. The original Princess Leia died from sleep apnea, according to a Los Angeles coroner, in December 2016.
