(WXYZ) — A fire at a Dollar General store in Brownstown Township destroyed the store inside a strip mall but was contained only to that store.
It happened at the store on Telegraph Rd. near Sibley overnight. Crews are still battling the fire right now.
It appears that the fire managed to stay only within the Dollar General and not affect any other nearby stores in the strip mall.
The chief credits a firewall between the dollar store and other businesses, and protection in the attic.
According to the chief, they are waiting for the rest of the fire to be extinguished before he can determine a cause of origin.
