HILLSBORO, Ore. (WXYZ) — A Flint man has been arrested and is facing a slew of charges after allegedly kidnapping a woman in Washington state and driving her to Oregon.
According to the Hillsboro Police Department in Oregon, they received a 911 call on Monday morning about a man assaulting a woman in the loading dock of a Costco. That man, identified as 61-year-old Alfonzo Summers of Flint, then allegedly took off in a semi and left the woman behind.
An off-duty Hillsboro officer saw the semi driving recklessly and also called 911.
Shortly after, an officer found the truck driving and tried to stop it, but the man refused, and due to weather and traffic, the officer didn't pursue the truck.
Eventually, officers found the truck stuck along railroad tracks, and the suspect took off from the scene. Police found him, gave chase, and arrested him when they ordered him to stop.
The woman in the incident suffered minor injuries and didn't require hospitalization. Summers allegedly picked her up in the Tacoma, Washington area and brought her to Oregon against her will.
