(WXYZ) — Former Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith, who pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice charges, has tested positive for the coronavirus. The results of this diagnosis has resulted in the postponement of his plea hearing, which was scheduled for Friday, Nov. 13.

Smith was admitted into a local hospital for treatment and then released, according to court documents.
His symptoms were described as severe. He's currently quarantined at his home.
The tentative reschedule for the hearing will be Dec. 17 at 11 a.m.
