It’s official! One of the oldest restaurants in Detroit is re-opening with a new name and new look this weekend.

Amore da Roma will replace Roma Café in the Eastern Market district with a grand opening Saturday.

Roma Café was originally opened in 1890. The restaurant was owned by Janet Sossi Belcoure and her family for decades, but was sold a few years ago. It closed in July for renovations, and head chef Guy Pelino said there were visual updates, but the menu will be virtually unchanged.

Amore da Roma is located at 3401 Riopelle in Detroit.
