HARPER WOODS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A former teacher will be sentenced Wednesday after he was found guilty of trying to trade grades for sex.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Charles Penn offered better grades to a 15-year-old student in exchange for sexual favors.
The incident occurred last year while he was working as an economics teacher at Harper Woods High School.
The student said Penn made the offer after she asked him how she could improve the "D" she received. Another student overheard the conversation.
Penn will be sentenced at 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
