The former co-owner of a metro Detroit trash hauling empire pleaded guilty to bribery and committing wire fraud and faces up to 10 years in prison.

Chuck Rizzo, Jr. made his plea deal in federal court in Port Huron this morning.

The U.S. Attorney recommends his prison sentence be reduced to 6 years if he continues to co-operate with the feds in the ongoing corruption case in Macomb County.

The reduced charges are based on bribes paid to elected officials to get trash contracts in Clinton and Macomb townships.

Chuck Rizzo Senior is also expected to plead guilty to the same charges but his case has been postponed.

They will pay $4-million in a forfeiture. But they get to keep multi-million dollar mansions they built while growing their business then selling it to investors.

Several other more serious charges were dismissed in the plea deals.
