BOSTON, Mass. (WXYZ) — Kendric Price, a former University of Michigan basketball player and assistant men's basketball coach at the University of Massachusetts Boston, was shot and killed Saturday, March 2, according to the Boston Police Department.
Investigators say that at about 2:58 a.m., officers were called to the area of 12 Greenwood Street in Dorchester – a neighborhood in Massachusetts – for a person shot. When they arrived, they found 32-year-old Price with gunshot wounds. He died on the scene.
Police are now investigating the incident and asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact Boston homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.
Price's hometown is Boston. He played University of Michigan basketball as a freshman and sophomore between 2005 and 2007. Price graduated from U of M in 2008, and according to the UMass website, he was selected to play with the East Coast All-Star team, which toured Denmark and Sweden, after leaving Ann Arbor.
