(WXYZ) — A winter storm is expected to pound metro Detroit overnight Friday into Saturday, with 5-9 inches of snow possible across the area.

The 7-9 inches of snow is expected for the immediate metro area.

Ahead of the storm, some cities across metro Detroit are declaring snow emergencies. We'll post those cities below, and update it every time a new city declares.

  • Auburn Hills - Midnight Saturday through 12 p.m. Sunday
  • Berkley - 10 p.m. Friday through all day Saturday
  • Beverly Hills - 11:00 p.m. Friday
  • Brownstown - 11 p.m. Saturday until further notice
  • Canton - 9 a.m. Saturday through noon Sunday
  • Center Line - 10 p.m. Friday until 10 p.m. Saturday
  • Clawson - effective immediately until further notice
  • Dearborn - 9 p.m. Friday until further notice
