Fundraiser being held for potential Pontiac skatepark

PONTIAC, Mich — This Sunday, the Pontiac Skatepark Project is teaming up with Fourth Dimension Coffee Company to host a skateboarding fundraisers to build a new skatepark.

The alley behind Fourth Dimension Coffee Company in downtown Pontiac will be transformed into a mini-skatepark, with grind rails and ramps.

Talks of a new skatepark began in February. Organizers with Pontiac Skatepark Project tell 7 Action News reporter Ali Hoxie this is the first fundraiser they have held.

The goal is to raise enough money for the Tony Hawk Foundation to match their funds up to $250,000.

The event Sunday from noon until 4:00 p.m. is free to the public, but donations are preferred. There will be tacos and food for purchase at the fundraiser through El Taco Dojo.

There will be music at the event including Pancho Villa's Skull, Craig Garwood and Fernando Silverio Solis
