Slain Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose funeral scheduled for tomorrow

The visitation and funeral arrangements have been released for Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose.

According to representatives of the Kaul Funeral Home, visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ford Field in Detroit.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, Dec. 1 at St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church located at 22415 Overlake in St. Clair Shores. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with mass following at 11 a.m.

The pastor at the funeral will Monsignor G. Michael Bugarin.  

"God has tasked us with the awesome responsibility of bringing the message of Christ to family and friends of Officer Rose," said Bugarin.

He said he knows the message he wants to convey to those in attendance. 

"Someone may have robbed him of his life, but no one has robbed him of the eternal life and life given to him by God," said Bugarin. 

Rose was shot last Tuesday night in Detroit and was taken to the hospital. He died on Wednesday. Police have arrested DeAngelo Davis for the murder.

In lieu of flowers - the family is asking for donations to be made to police charities or animal organizations.
