(WXYZ) — Lawrence Paul Mills, III, 32, of Garden City, has been charged in connection with the 2017 murder of a 59-year-old Detroit woman, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced Sunday.
The woman died from multiple injuries, police said, and was found on December 3, 2017 lying in the street near the area of Anthon and Campbell in Detroit.
An investigation into the woman's death was ongoing for several years, leading to the arrest of Mills on April 24, 2020.
Mills allegedly, by intention, hit and killed the victim with his car, police say.
Mills is charged with first-degree murder and was arraigned Sunday= in 34th District Court. He was remanded to jail.
