HOWELL, Mich. (WXYZ) — UPDATE: Howell Police have given the all clear in the downtown area. Residents and visitors can resume activity.
Traffic is moving again, police say.

Residents are being asked to avoid downtown Howell due to a gas leak Friday morning.
Police say the gas leak has closed off several roads and have emergency vehicles blocking areas.
Those in the downtown area must "use caution, follow directions of emergency personnel, and exercise patience while traveling by vehicle or on foot!" police say.
